Item 8.01 Other Events.
On July 28, 2021, Capital Bancorp, Inc. (the “Company”) announced the declaration of a cash dividend on its common stock of $0.05 per share. The dividend is payable on August 16, 2021 to shareholders of record as of July 30, 2021. A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and incorporated herein by reference.

Capital Bancorp Initiates Cash Dividend of $0.05 per Share 

Capital Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: CBNK) (“Company”), the holding company of Capital Bank (“Bank”) announced today that following its second quarter diluted earnings per share of $0.68, the Board of Directors has declared a cash dividend on its common stock of $0.05 per share.  The dividend is payable on August 16, 2021 to shareholders of record as of July 30, 2021.

“I am pleased to announce that our Board believes that our strong and consistent financial performance enables us to initiate a modest quarterly cash dividend to our shareholders,” said Steve Schwartz, Chairman of the Board of the Company.  "The dividend demonstrates confidence in the Company’s performance outlook and our Board's commitment to enhancing shareholder value.
